The 90/90 Rule

When trying to figure out which items to keep around the house, ask yourself the following questions:

  • Have I used this in the last 90 days?

  • Will I use it in the next 90 days?

If the answer to both questions is no, consider getting rid of them (i.e., sell, give away, or donate them).

If so inspired, reflect on this process in your Project Quartz journal.

Bonus: While the 90/90 questions aren’t immediately relevant for seasonal or sentimental items, they can be modified if you find them a useful filter for decluttering (e.g., Did I use this last season/holiday? Will I use it next season/holiday?).
