Mana Pool
In Magic: The Gathering (and many other tabletop and video games), there’s the idea that you have a pool of resources you draw from, and in order to do certain things, you need enough of that type of resource (in the case of Magic, it’s called mana, which is primarily generated by land cards, seen above).
Applying the idea of mana to real life, recognize that you also have a variety of different resources that are required to effectively execute a variety of different abilities. This can include how you feel (physically, psychologically, and emotionally), how much time you have, whether certain prerequisites for the task have been met, what else you’re planning to do today, etc.
In your Project Quartz journal, write down how you’re feeling today.
Given that, what type(s) of tasks can you most effectively work on today?
What type(s) of tasks will be better saved for another day?
