Winning Silver

I didn’t lose the gold. I won the silver.
— Michelle Kwan

After a big event that didn’t go exactly the way you wanted, take a moment to pause.

If you notice that you’re focusing on what you didn’t do (“win gold”), flip things around to focus on what you did do (“won silver”).

For example:

  • “I didn’t finish the marathon in the time I wanted” ➾ “I finished a f*cking marathon!”

  • “I didn’t get the job” ➾ “I’m really proud of how I handled myself during that tough interview”

  • “I didn’t finish my to-do list today” ➾ “I finally did that one thing I’ve been putting off for ages”

Write down your reframe in your Project Quartz journal, then go ahead and celebrate what you accomplished!
