Prototype It!

You have an idea, but will it actually work? Let’s find out by building a prototype!

First, in your Project Quartz journal, allow yourself to dream big about the final version of your idea.

Next, write down any questions you have about your idea, and pick one that particularly speaks to you.

What is the smallest, simplest, or easiest version of your idea that will allow you to answer this question?

Bring it to life, and see what you learn.

Record your learnings in your Project Quartz journal.

Variation: MVP (Minimum Viable Product)

Once you’ve answered your initial question(s) about your idea through prototyping, you can proceed to creating an MVP (minimum viable product), which is the smallest, simplest, or easiest version of your idea that you’re actually able to launch.

Again, bring it to life and record what you learn in your Project Quartz journal.

Note: The prototype and MVP are both good reminders that your ideas don’t need to come into the world fully formed. You can start with a prototype (or prototypes plural) and MVP, and add features as you go!
