Trash Negativity

When you find yourself having a negative thought you want to get rid of, write it down on a scrap of paper, then crumple it up and throw it in the trash!

That’s it. That’s the tool.

Yes, it may seem silly, but it’s surprisingly satisfying.

If/when you’re inspired, reflect on this experience in your Project Quartz journal.

Variation: Pocket Positivity

This tool is exactly the same as Trash Negativity, but in reverse.

When you find yourself having a positive thought you want to hold on to, write it down on a scrap of paper, then fold it up and put it in your pocket (or a pocket of your bag).

If so inspired, at the end of the day, you can transfer your pocketed thoughts to a more permanent spot for safe-keeping, like a vase or jewelry box that brings you joy.
